BMW Brake Pad

Ceramic brake pads subvert the concept of ceramic brake pads in the traditional sense. Ceramic brake pads are composed of ceramic fibers, iron-free filler materials, adhesives and a small amount of metal.

Ceramic brake pads are a kind of brake pads. Many consumers initially mistakenly think that ceramics are made of ceramics. In fact, ceramic brake pads are based on the principle of cermet rather than non-metallic ceramics. The surface generates high temperatures, which can be determined to be 800 to 900 degrees, and some even higher. At this high temperature, a similar reaction occurs in the cermet sintering on the surface of the brake pad, so that the brake pad has good stability at this temperature. However, the conventional brake pad does not cause a sintering reaction at this temperature, and the surface material melts or even generates an air cushion due to a sharp rise in the surface temperature, which causes a situation in which the braking performance of the continuous brake is drastically lowered or the brake is completely lost.

Features of ceramic brake pads shared by Hummer Brake Pad Manufacturer:

Less gray on the wheels; long life of the disc and the dual; no noise / no tremor / no damage to the disc. The specific performance is:

(1) The biggest difference between ceramic brake pads and traditional brake pads is that there is no metal. The metal in the conventional brake pad is a material mainly generating frictional force, and has a large braking force, but is large in wear and is prone to noise. After installing the ceramic brake pads, there will be no abnormal squeaking (ie, squeaking) during normal driving. Because the ceramic brake pads do not contain metal components, the metal squeaks of the traditional metal brake pads and the dual components (ie, the brake pads and the brake discs) are avoided.

(2) Stable coefficient of friction. The friction coefficient is the most important performance index of any friction material, and it is related to the braking ability of the brake pad. During the braking process, heat is generated due to friction, and the working temperature is increased. The friction material of the general brake pad is affected by the temperature, and the friction coefficient begins to decrease. In practical applications, the friction is reduced, which reduces the braking effect. The friction material of the ordinary brake pad is immature, and the friction coefficient is too high, which causes unsafe factors such as out of control during the braking process, burning of the film, and scratching of the brake disc. Even if the temperature of the brake disc reaches 650 degrees, the friction coefficient of the ceramic brake pad is still around 0.45-0.55, which can ensure the vehicle has good braking performance.

(3) Ceramics have good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, and good wear resistance. The long-term use temperature is 1000 degrees. This feature makes ceramics suitable for high performance requirements of various high performance brake materials, and can meet the technical requirements of high speed, safety and high wear resistance of brake pads.

(4) It has good mechanical strength and physical properties. Can withstand large pressure and shear forces. Before the assembly of the friction material, it is necessary to perform machining such as drilling and assembly to make the brake pad assembly. Therefore, the friction material must have sufficient mechanical strength to ensure that no damage or chipping occurs during processing or use.

(5) It has a very low thermal decay. Regardless of the first-generation ceramic products of M09 and the fourth-generation ceramic brake pads of TD58, the vehicle can still ensure good braking performance to ensure safety, and the thermal attenuation of the brake pads is small.
